Yes. New homes are built fast by a lot of different subcontractors, and things get missed. We recommend an independent inspection before the drywall goes up, another before closing, and one more before your one-year warranty runs out.
Should I use the builder's lender to get the incentive?
Sometimes it wins and sometimes it doesn't. Builder incentives such as closing-cost help or rate buy-downs are often tied to the builder's own lender. We compare the full cost against at least one outside lender so you can see which deal actually saves you more.
