Jasper is the Marion County seat, sitting where Nickajack Lake widens out along the Tennessee River and I-24 runs straight through town on its way between Chattanooga and Monteagle. It is a working county-seat community with a courthouse square, but it is also the access point for Nickajack Cave and Nickajack Lake, popular for kayaking, fishing, and boating.
